Aurora first came about in 1891, it was first considered the town of Fletcher named after a Denver Businessman Donald Fletcher who saw it as a real estate opportunity. However, in 1907 inhabitants decided to name the town Aurora instead, since Donald Fletcher had skipped town many years before.
