If you love warm weather, you’ll be excited to know that Tucson gets 350 days of sunshine a year. That’s more than any other city in the U.S.! The city is also surrounded by the largest concentration of Saguaro cactus, which makes for beautiful scenery. Tucson is also a great place to catch concerts, plays, and visual art displays, and the city has been named “a mini-mecca for the arts” by the Wall Street Journal. Tucson is also one of the best places to golf in the western region of the U.S. There are lots of other outdoor activities to enjoy as well, including a Colossal Cave tour, with one of the world’s biggest dry caverns. Tucson is also the place to be if you’re a baseball fan. The city is the only one in the United States to host three MLB Spring Training teams—The Colorado Rockies, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the Chicago White Sox.
The summers in Tucson are hot and the winters are temperate. The annual high temperature is around 84 degrees and the average low temperature is 58 degrees.
Arts and Culture
Tucson has lots of great museums to choose from, such as the University of Arizona Museum of Art operated by the University of Arizona and houses some of the most beautiful art in the city, and there are lots of breathtaking exhibits to learn about. The fascinating Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum has a botanical garden and zoo on site. Visitors can learn about the natural history of the area, and there’s a beautiful art gallery to browse as well. Prima Air and Space Museum is one of the biggest non-government funded aerospace museums. There’s a display that features nearly 300 aircraft, so there’s plenty to see and do at the 127-acre attraction.
